Day 64 of 100 Days of Hope
When we think of strength, what often comes to mind are muscles, strategies, or sheer willpower. But what if the most powerful force available to you is something far subtler—yet infinitely more transformative? In his April 2021 address “Russell M. Nelson: Christ Is Risen; Faith in Him Will Move Mountains,” President Nelson taught that faith in Jesus Christ is the ultimate superpower. The Church of Jesus Christ+2Church News+2
Faith: The Foundation of Divine Power
President Nelson declared,
“Faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of all belief and the conduit of divine power.” The Church of Jesus Christ+1
And he went further:
“Faith in Jesus Christ is the greatest power available to us in this life. All things are possible to them that believe.” The Church of Jesus Christ
He reminds us that our faith, even if small, unlocks a “perfect power” that comes from God.
“The Lord does not require perfect faith for us to have access to His perfect power. But He does ask us to believe.” Church News
Why “Superpower” Fits Faith
Unlike worldly power, which often depends on visible resources or human strength, faith connects us to a higher source. When you take action in faith, you move beyond your limited natural abilities and tap into divine support. President Nelson encouraged all of us to act in faith, asking:
“What would you do if you had more faith? Think about it. Write about it. Then receive more faith by doing something that requires more faith.” The Church of Jesus Christ+1
That’s a superpower in action: identifying a possibility, stepping toward it, and allowing God’s power to join with your efforts.
Faith in the Midlife Journey
As someone navigating midlife—especially if you’re among the courageous moms transitioning into an “empty nest” phase—the invitation to lean on faith is especially meaningful. You’ve invested deeply in your family, your home, your values—and now you have an opportunity to redirect your strength outward and upward.
Perhaps you’re wondering:
What new opportunity might God be inviting you into?
What mountain (fear, uncertainty, relationship shift, identity change) might be moved when you step in faith?
What small “faith-step” could you take this week that could shift the trajectory of your next season?
How to Build That Faith Superpower
Drawing from President Nelson’s counsel, here are five practical ways to strengthen faith so it becomes active, powerful, and life-changing:
Study intentionally. Immerse yourself in scripture, especially Christ’s mission, His Atonement, His role in your life. “The more you learn about the Savior, the easier it will be to trust in His mercy… and His healing, strengthening, and redeeming power.” The Church of Jesus Christ+1
Choose to believe. Don’t wait for perfect certainty—decide actively to trust. President Nelson taught: “Choose to believe in Jesus Christ… Take your questions to the Lord and to other faithful sources.” The Church of Jesus Christ
Act in faith. Go ahead and do one thing that stretches you. Maybe it’s reaching out to someone you’ve hesitated to connect with, or launching a personal dream you tucked away. President Nelson’s invitation: “Write about it… then receive more faith by doing something that requires more faith.” The Church of Jesus Christ
Partake of sacred ordinances worthily. Spiritual practices and covenants open the door to divine power. The Church of Jesus Christ
Ask Heavenly Father for help. In prayer, request the strength and the faith you need.
“Ask the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, for help.” The Church of Jesus Christ
The Real-Life Impact
In your world—where roles are shifting, identities are evolving, and the invitation to grow is persistent—the power of faith can transform your trajectory. It might mean stepping into coaching others (just like you’re doing), launching your next chapter, or simply embracing the joy and humility of growth. When you trust that the divine is working with you, even your “ordinary” days become extraordinary.
A Personal Invitation to You
What mountain will you invite God to help you move?
What action will you take—today or this week—that stretches your faith?
How will you lean into the belief that, with God, nothing is impossible?
I believe in you. I believe you have that extraordinary capacity within you—and when you step in faith, you will shine bright. With love and courage, keep taking the next step.
