Day 2 of 100 Days of hope
Finding Hope in Community
This past Sunday, I was late. Really late. And not just for anything—I was supposed to be playing the organ for church. Uggg. Have you ever had moments like that? Definitely not fun!
But here’s what I found when I finally walked in: someone had already stepped in to play the prelude music. Then another friend of mine played the organ because I wasn’t there.
I’m not usually a flakey person, but I am human—and I make mistakes. What struck me most was this: in my absence, others showed up. They noticed a need and filled it without me saying a word.
The Power of Support
That moment reminded me of something so important: we’re not meant to do everything alone. There are people around us who want to help, who are willing to step in when they see a need.
Hope can be as simple as a hymn played by a friend when you couldn’t be there to do it yourself. It’s a reminder that we are supported and loved, even when we drop the ball.
Gratitude for Community
I felt so much gratitude for my friends and community that day. Their kindness reminded me that I don’t always have to carry everything myself. It gave me peace to know that I can ask for help—and that there are people ready to offer it.
An Invitation for You
My hope for you is this: see the people around you as a resource, not as a burden. Don’t feel guilty asking for help when you need it. You are supported. You are important. And you don’t have to do it all on your own.
