Day 8 of 100 days of hope

Look for Light

One of my favorite things in the world is watching sunrises and sunsets. There’s something so simple and yet so profound about the way light breaks across the horizon at the start of the day or melts into rich colors at the close of it. Every time I pause to notice, I am reminded of something bigger, something beautiful, something filled with hope.

I love light. Not only because it helps us see, but because of what it creates. Think about it—without light, we wouldn’t see the breathtaking colors painted across the sky, the soft pinks and fiery oranges, the quiet purples, and the surprise of rainbows that sometimes appear. Light has the ability to transform an ordinary moment into one that feels sacred.

When I watch the sky change, I feel supported. I feel loved. I sense that I am not walking this life alone. To me, light is a reminder of divine presence—that there is Someone greater than me who sees me, who knows me, who created that beauty not just for the world, but for me personally. That simple reminder has carried me through difficult times.

Sunrises and sunsets whisper messages of hope. They say, “You are important.” They say, “You are seen.” They say, “You are not alone.” They remind me that I can face the challenges of my life with the confidence that I am being guided and supported every step of the way.

And I believe the same is true for you.

No matter what you are walking through, there is light waiting to remind you that you are loved and that you have what it takes to keep moving forward. Sometimes we just need to pause long enough to see it.

So today, I want to encourage you: look for light. Notice the way the sun rises or sets, or how it shines through the trees or reflects on the water. Let it be a personal reminder that there is support for you, that there is beauty in your journey, and that you don’t have to do this life alone.

When we look for light, we start to see hope in places we didn’t expect. We begin to trust that our path, no matter how uncertain, is leading us somewhere meaningful. And with each step, we are strengthened by the quiet but powerful reminder that we are seen, loved, and guided.

My hope for you is that light will give you the confidence to face your challenges with courage. May it remind you that you are amazing, that your journey matters, and that you are never, ever alone.

With gratitude and love,
Julie Burningham
