Day 18 of 100 Days of hope

What’s Going Great for You?

There’s a question my life coach used to ask me every time we met: “What’s going great for you?”

It may seem simple, but that one question has the power to change your whole day. It pulls your attention away from what’s not working and points you toward what is. It moves you out of a negative loop and into gratitude, creativity, and hope. And when you start from a place of noticing the good, your challenges suddenly feel lighter, more manageable, and less overwhelming.

Why This Question Works

Our brains are wired to scan for problems—what’s broken, what needs fixing, what could go wrong. That’s a survival instinct, but it often keeps us stuck in stress and negativity.

Asking “What’s going great?” interrupts that pattern. It forces your mind to shift gears and look for evidence of what’s already good in your life. It’s like training your brain to see the sunlight instead of just the storm.

What’s Going Great for Me Today

When I pause to reflect, I can name several things that are going really well:

  • 🌿 I went to the temple with my husband this morning, which always grounds me in love and faith.

  • ⛰️ I enjoyed the fresh air and beauty of nature on a morning hike.

  • 💛 I had the privilege of coaching some incredible clients and witnessing their growth.

  • 🍪 And it’s “Cookie Friday” at our house, a tradition where neighborhood kids come over for fun, laughter, and homemade treats.

None of these things are big or flashy. But together, they fill my day with joy and gratitude.

What’s Going Great for You?

Now it’s your turn. Pause for just a moment. Take a breath. Ask yourself: What’s going great for me today?

Maybe it’s a conversation with a friend, a project you made progress on, or the simple joy of your morning coffee. It doesn’t have to be extraordinary—it just has to be true.

When you practice noticing what’s good, your perspective shifts. Your problems don’t disappear, but they become easier to manage. Life feels lighter, hope returns, and possibilities open up.

That is my hope for you, my friend—that you will look for the good in your life and let it guide you toward peace and joy.
